SKIES KIT FOR MOUNTAIN FLYING – SNOW AND GLACIERS

SKIES KIT FOR MOUNTAIN FLYING – SNOW AND GLACIERS

These skis are made up of a welded steel tube 4130, which is secured with a polythene sole of adequate thickness.
The ski is tied to the aircraft via a twisted frame that rotates from one end to the wheel pin and the other on a solid tie to the skis. In this way the ski can move up and down freely, while maintaining its center of gravity with respect to the aircraft. A rear end cable and an elastic bandage make the ski to keep in touch with the plane’s structure. A sliding plate moved by an electric actuator determines the mode of skiing:
– The forward plate opens an opening in the soleplate, skiing is obliged by the elastic to climb until a stop restricts the race and the wheel runs outwards (“wheels”)
– The rear plate, working in contact with the tire, forces the ski to lower, the plate closes the opening and the ski gains more support (ski mode)

The strengths of the new Marc-Ingegno ski are mainly:

– In ski mode, the large sliding surface allows an excellent floating of the aircraft especially in fresh snow, without the braking effect typical of the simplest ski produced by the wheels protruding.

– The lack of this braking effect is optimal when taking off, especially for low powered power engines typical of ULMs, since it significantly shortens the take-off run ensuring safety and fun

– During landing on snow the weight of the aircraft is borne on the wheels, which in turn stand on the ski slope, then the cushioning of the leg is amplified by the rubber that acts as a further suspension and allows to absorb any roughness of the ground.

– The center of gravity does not move during the transition between “wheel” and “ski” mode, so there is never any movement of the center of gravity of the aircraft in either mode.

– When mounted on bicycle aircraft, which normally have two different flight and ground configurations, the optimum adjustment is automatically handled via a mechanism connected to the electric actuator (CD-clever option)

– Other skiers make skiing by adding an extension to the axle and then from one side of the wheel. Our system binds skiing on both sides of the axle, allowing you to restart your efforts appropriately, avoiding trauma in the trolley during landing. In addition, our exclusive mounting system allows you to mount and disassemble the skis from the aircraft in a very short time, with only four bolts per ski, two carabiners and unplugging electrical connections.

When landing on grassy tracks, the elastics and wires prevent the ski from touching the ground, so the wheel and the brakes work as usual.

– Thanks to the cable / elastic system that governs the skis, when skipping in the “wheel” mode, the ski tail is raised, while in the “ski” mode it remains lower with ski jumping: this makes it easier and safer landings on both meadows and snow.

– Our skis are the lightest in the market in relation to the surface (kg 12 each)

Unique in their kind, mount wheels up to size 21x12x8 “, which endure the muddy winter springs of downhill runs and can be used in other seasons.

Note: Kit does not include axle, various stock types are available
– we also have the appropriate tail roller skis available
