Main fixed or retractable landing gear with nitrogen gas / oil shock absorber.
The gear is designed to be as adaptable as possible to various new and old construction aircraft, it can be natively installed with retractable or fixed function, depending on the needs;
if retractable, the rotation axis can be realized in various ways:
– cantilever axis using the large diameter tube that projects backwards (tube that can be configured in length) inserting a bush, integral with the structure (typically the box spar wing) and a spherical joint that determines the axial position installed on the threaded stud.
– the main body is designed to house a pivot facing forward (on the front side) that can be used to install, with the rear pin, a pair of spherical joints on which the leg rotates. The body has an angle of 5 ° degree to the pivot axis, to allow a correct position on the ground of the wheel, in any case it is possible to build the body with different angles.
The stroke of the shock absorber is 75mm but can be adapted according to individual requirements.
The hydraulic part consists of a cartridge, identical for the nose landing gear and for the main landing gear to optimize parts and reduce costs; this cartridge can be calibrated according to the maximum load and total energy absorption.
The fork has a single arm to reduce the gear dimensions and facilitate the insertion of the leg in its housing, when it is mounted as retractable.
The size of the tire can be changed, as well as the braking system that can be calibrated to handle the weight and the landing speed of the aircraft.
