This installation is based on the “Piper Cub”, as it is expected to be installed on the brake pump floor.
If the brake pump is mounted on the pedal, the braking action pulls the helm cables that are not designed for this purpose, the new floor pump separates the two functions: braking action and steering control.
With the two separate commands you get three benefits:
– Increase foot pressure when braking (effective braking)
– Avoid overloading the helm cable
– It is easier to keep the aircraft control while traveling on the ground.
The floor pump does not include the installation of an external or remote oil reservoir as the wear of the brake pads is very low and therefore, to keep the braking action constant over time, adjust the appropriate screw on the pump. This reduces the need for oil filling in the braking system.
Installed on the floor of the aircraft, ensuring its easy and immediate use, is perfectly compatible with taildragger and tricycle aircraft
